Robin Tay

Duputy Director (Operations)

Having had his childhood disrupted by familial conflicts, Robin's early life was marked by neglect, rebellion and involvement with gangs, loansharks, and drug syndicates. By the age of 18, he had been incarcerated six times, serving a total of 12 years and receiving eight strokes of the cane for various offenses, including drug trafficking and extortion.
His pivotal moment in Robin's life occurred during his imprisonment in 2002 when a chance encounter with Christmas carollers led to his spiritual awakening and desire for guidance. Upon his release in 2007, Robin admitted himself to TNCM’s Residential Rehabilitation Programme where he was mentored and counselled in his journey of restoration.

In 2009, Robin married his better half, Kelyn, who has been serving alongside him since 2010.

With his life turned around, Robin started reaching out to the incarcerated and the youth-at-risk through targeted programmes in prison institutions and schools, impacting both the young and old. In a bid to constantly improve and be more effective, Robin pursued higher education, obtaining his diploma in counselling psychology, certification as a behavioural consultant and in 2024, graduated with his Master of Counselling.

Today, Robin oversees the operations of TNCM, ensuring the effective delivery of our key programmes and services. His personal experiences and professional expertise make him a valuable asset in guiding individuals toward positive change. Robin's journey from a troubled youth to a leader in rehabilitation exemplifies the transformative power of support, education, and personal commitment.
